I bought this pair (my third pair of sanuks- I've had flip flips & a different loafer) on a whim when I wasn't prepared for a lot of walking and my feet started to hurt. They were an instant relief and have been my go-to ever since.

My flip flops wore out at the big toe within one summer and eventually the loafers with the thin rubber sole (while cute) wore out and fell apart after a year. This style attracted me because (1) I knew the brand was comfortable, even if they hadn't lasted too long (I have a tendency to overwear my shoes anyway) and (2) the thicker sole looked promising.

The thicker sole is PERFECT and I wear these all the time, even after 2 years. I travel frequently- business & pleasure, domestic & international, quick & long flights. These have proven to be the best for the plane- easy on off through TSA and comfortable for the long plane ride.

They sit by the door and I wear there more than my beloved flip flop collection.

They have gotten beat up from the use (stains, dirt, etc), but that just means I can buy another pair.

These shoes are the best for just about anything. They're less breathable than the original sidewalk surfers which makes them even more perfect for different types of weather. They are more snug to your foot than the other styles which I think is great too even though I have a wide foot. I have had the green pair for almost two years and they're still treating my feet like gods.
