    Comments about Cassius:

I purchased these shoes specifically for work. I have a desk job, so I'm not on my feel all day, but I'm also not desk-bound 100% of the time. I also chose these as they are (a) canvas and vegan, and (b) "dignified" enough to pull-off in an office setting.

I had a hard time paying $70 for these, but there aren't many vegan options that fit in an office environment -- these had the smallest white rubber band around the sole, so I thought I could get away with them. My first impression was very positive based on the amazing footbed...the insole is incredibly comfortable, and the shoe really feels like a slipper. The arch is a bit on the flat side, but much better than most other canvas shoes I've tried (which tend to be completely flat).

The upper is clean and crisp enough to look like an office-acceptable loafer or deck shoe. If the band around the sole were a dark color, they'd be perfect -- the cream/white gives them a definite casual character. And that's really my main complaint -- if they made this shoe with a dark sole band (or the Casa Barco or Offshore), I'd stop looking at other shoes.

Small thing -- the laces are nice -- they grip and hold very well once tied.

My only structural complaint is that the heel is softer than I'd prefer, so it buckles readily when I slip these on. It's really a minor inconvenience, and forces me to untie them to put them on. And that might be the trade-off for avoiding any new-shoe-blisters.

On that, I'm surprised others have had chafing or blistering problems -- these shoes are so pliant and comfortable, I haven't had any break-in concerns.

I'd feel better paying $50 for these, but given the dearth of vegan shoes that I feel are appropriate for the office, I think I'm getting good value for the $70 I paid.

I've been wearing these 2-3 times a week (10 hours out of the day), for a few months now -- and they're holding up very well. The heel is showing creases from the buckling I described, but the rest of the shoe looks perfect. Even across the top of the foot, there are no big creases forming or showing, so they really look very nice.

    Comments about Cassius:

When I started wearing these, I immediately noticed that the left shoe rim was rubbing against my achilles heels bad enough that I would get blisters. I thought of giving up, but they looked really nice and the soles were extremely comfortable. I wore them with socks for few days which broke them in a little bit more. This turned out perfect and now I can wear them without socks.

I've had a pair of shipwrecked and vagabond, and this time I made the purchase along with the mortimer. The mortimer is extremely comfortable right out of the box since it has a lower cut against your achilles heel, but these definitely look a little more classier. If they are chafing, wear it with socks and should be good to go.

      Comments about Cassius:

I've had a few pairs of Sanuks before and I'm really digging on the Cassius now. The foot bed is really comfortable and feels really cushion-y. I kind of compare this style to my Converse Chuck's and the Cassius is a lot better on my knees for walking around all day and softening the impact.
