Comments about Laurel:

I was very skeptical after I got my Sanuks in the mail. I usually wear a size 7 in tennis shoes and ordered a size 6 in Sanuk Laurel, after reading reviews about the canvas stretching. The shoes initially felt very tight and would rub on my big toes quite a bit, and I thought it would be unlikely that they would expand enough to be comfortable.

I wore my Sanuks with socks for a couple days and found that they did expand enough that now I can wear them comfortably, without any rubbing. It feels like a miracle, but the reviewers were right. I love the pattern of these shoes and how cool-casual they are. I'm wearing them as I type this.

A couple of negatives: I have flat feet and have found that these shoes have no arch support whatsoever. It has a softer insole but it doesnt have the kind of support I need for my arches. But I bought some arch inserts and that will work fine. I also wanted to wear these while sailing, but the soles are pretty slippery and wouldn't give me any traction on a deck. But that's ok, they're still cute and worth it.

I personally wouldn't wear them for extensive walking (mostly because of that pesky arch problem of mine), but they are perfect for wearing to work or class.

After reading the reviews, I ordered an 8 instead of a 9 (I wear 8.5) and they are perfect! They were slightly snug at first but broke in very quickly.

I've had this pair of shoes for about four years now. I've worn mine to the beach, at work, at school and really just wherever. The soles are so comfy you really could where them everyday. The fitting is true to size, but over time (& MANY uses) they stretch out. I really can't complain. I am deciding whether or not to order a new pair because the pair I have now smells really bad from work and from sitting out at the beach. Probably the best and most favorite shoes I've ever worn.
